Eastmont Neighborhood Council

What is a Neighborhood Council or NC: They support community engagement and neighborhood empowerment by creating spaces for neighbors to build relationships and work together, in partnership with city agencies, to improve their neighborhoods! Monthly Community Meetings

Attending ENC meetings is a great way to stay up-to-date on what’s happening in your neighborhood, speak directly with City staff, your City Council Office, and connect with your neighborhood’s law enforcement team. Join us and share your opinions and concerns, or just listen in - there is a role and space for everyone!

Parker Elementary

In 2022 parents, residents of Eastmont, and community members rallied in support of keeping Parker Elementary open. While they were not able to save the K-8 school, the Eastmont community did not give up on having Parker as a neighborhood institution.

Eastmont Neighborhood Council supports Parker Elementary as a vital community resource. Parker is now the home of Oakland Adult and Career Education (OACE) programs, with more community resources set to move in.

Parker Elementary is a great example of when the community works together, it can make all the difference.

Civic Engagement

Eastmont Neighborhood Council encourages its membership to participate in the civic process. From championing fair and equitable re-districting for D6 to participating in town halls and partnering with community organizations for candidate forums.
